What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a quality of consciousness often described as “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.” Mindfulness is a state of mind developed through practice to help increase attention, concentration and emotional regulation.

How does Mindfulness "Eliminate" fear in trading?

Mindfulness enables us to identify emotions as they arise and understand their meaning, which is a key aspect of emotional intelligence. This greater emotional awareness allows the trader to maintain focus on the trade plan without letting fear hijack their decision making. So, even though we refer to the "elimination" of fear, we are actually talking about training the brain to accept the inevitable existence of fear while continuing to trade in a focused and objective manner.

Is it difficult to practice Mindfulness?

Not at all! You can start with as little as 10-15 minutes a day, in the privacy of your own home, and with minimal space requirements. The amazing part about practicing mindfulness is that you can learn at your own pace. You can start with something as simple as "watching" your own breath.
